COVID-19 Policy

Subject to Change

Last Updated: May 4, 2023

The National Coalition of STD Directors (NCSD) is committed to providing a safe and healthy environment at STD Engage 2023 for all guests, speakers, sponsors, exhibitors, production partners, and employees. As such, NCSD requires all STD Engage 2023 attendees to certify that that they tested negative for COVID-19 within 24 hours of arriving at the venue, the Sheraton New Orleans Hotel – 500 Canal Street, New Orleans, LA.

24 hours prior to arriving onsite, all attendees must upload proof of negative COVID-19 test in their attendee portal via eventPower, regardless of vaccination status. PCR and rapid home tests are both acceptable.

PLEASE NOTE: Attendees who do not comply with this requirement will be denied entry and sent to obtain a COVID-19 test to upload the results prior to being granted entry into the conference. It is therefore crucial that this requirement is met by all for the health and wellbeing of all conference participants.

NCSD requests that attendees who are not feeling well or exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms not attend STD Engage 2023. Additionally, if an attendee has recently tested positive for COVID-19, they should not attend STD Engage 2023 unless 1) they are no longer symptomatic, 2) at least five calendar days have passed since the date of their first positive test, and 3) they have tested negative after that five day period. No one should attend STD Engage 2023 in-person if instructed to quarantine by a medical professional or if their COVID-19 test taken 24-hours prior to arriving on site is positive.

For questions regarding COVID-19 symptoms, please reference the Center for Disease Control (CDC) website: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/your-health/index.html. For updated guidance from the City of New Orleans, please reference https://nola.gov/health/coronavirus/safe-reopening/.

NCSD requires all staff and strongly recommends all guests be up to date on COVID-19 vaccinations, including the recommended boosters. Staff and guests are considered fully vaccinated two weeks after the date on which the final shot of their initial vaccine regimen is administered and if they receive a booster shot one month after the date they become eligible for a booster shot. If they don’t receive a booster shot within one month of becoming eligible, they will no longer be considered fully vaccinated. You may upload your vaccination card in your attendee portal.

Though not required, masks and/or face coverings are encouraged when indoors, except when eating, drinking, or presenting on stage at STD Engage 2023.

By attending STD Engage 2023, you agree to abide by this policy in addition to all applicable local, state, and federal COVID-19 mandates. NCSD may adopt additional reasonable COVID-19 rules and regulations in its sole discretion.

Please note that event venue staff are not subject to this policy. The Sheraton New Orleans will follow all local, state, and federal government regulations at the time of the event.

We reserve the right to change or adjust our COVID-19 policy requirements as the pandemic evolves or government requirements change and will make every effort to notify you in advance of any deadlines.

If you require any accommodations, please contact stdengage@ncsddc.org in advance of the event.
